-
"Receive updates by email"
-
and under "State newsletters". please select (tick) "Qld News"
-
-
-
-
You can request a Mensa Australia email address https://www.mensa.org.au/member-centre/mensa-email-application but I have simply opted for a Mensa International email address, the Mensa International website.
-
As a new member, you might find that your emails go to the SPAM folder for a while – so you might need to regularly check your spam folder until you have trained your email that Mensa emails are not spam.
Review the new member’s guide prepared by Laura Parsons from South Australia.
Review the latest TableAus - Mensa Australia's bi-monthly magazine. Lots of great information to be found. Lists of lots of resources that you might find useful or of interest.

-
In particular, new members might find it useful to review the section titled "New member quickstart"
Joining Australian Mensa Facebook groups on Facebook
-
"M in Qld" (eg your state based Mensa Facebook - this is one place where local Mensa events are advertised)
-
"M in Aus"
Apply for an Australian Mensa email address at https://www.mensa.org.au/member-centre/mensa-email-application
-
Note: "The old emails of the form yourname@mensa.org.au will be discontinued on 30th June 2023, giving you 6 months to get a new email and inform everyone of the change." Members who had a yourname@mensa.org.au email forward previously, will need to get a new one before 30th June 2023, after which those emails will be discontinued.
-
The new format for Australian Mensa email addresses is "your.name@member.mensa.org.au"
Join Mensa International
-
Getting validated and gaining access to the Mensa International website
-
This will make make it much easier to find out what is happening in Mensa around the world - AND
-
it will help you gain access to other Mensa things websites and groups around the world because a lot of groups will review your Mensa International profile and details to quickly validate that you are a member of Mensa - before giving you access to their group or website.
-
Therefore, setting up a profile on Mensa International web site is important
-
-
To register for access to the Mensa International website, use this link
-
Obtain your Mensa International email address xxx.yyy.au@member.mensa.org (also called "vanity email address")
-
Joining Mensa Workplace
-
https://mensaaust.wixsite.com/value/workgroups
-
https://mensainternational.workplace.com/
-
There are a large number of discussion groups on Mensa Workplace
-
Note: To set up logon details to Mensa Workplace:
-
you first need to get login access to the Mensa International Workplace (see above)
-
You then need to get a Mensa International vanity email address (see above)
-
And you need to use your Mensa International vanity email address as your email address for Mensa Workplace
-
-
-
-
Review Australian events that might be of interest to you.
-
As per above, at least join your state-based Mensa Facebook Group eg "M in Qld"
-
Review your state-based Mensa Events page eg
-
https://www.mensa.org.au/events/category/qld-events (for Qld)
-
https://www.mensa.org.au/events - for events all around Australia
-
Note Qld events may not necessarily appear in the Qld events page, though they usually do - and potentially Qld events might only appearing this national events page, so I suggest that you check both
-
-
https://www.mensa.org.au/events/category/national-events - and then there is this page for the Australian annual conference.
-
Have a flick through at least one copy of the Australian Mensa Publication - TableAus
-
TableAus provides quite a useful list of resources that are available to you - as well as interesting articles.
-
In particular check the last few pages - Australian Mensa national directory
-
Of course, some of the other places where you will find key contacts are here:-
That will be a good starting point to start exploring the rest of the very large Mensa world. Hopefully this website will help get you started in that process.
